Brothers All, Vivat Jesus!
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you that were affected by the disastrous floods this past month. I am sure that you know that the State Council has a disaster relief fund for situations like this that are made possible via the Penny-a-Day program. I am sure you will see more detail regarding this program throughout this edition of the Tar Heel Knight.
Now, back to my regularly scheduled programming concerning form submissions. We are slowly getting closer to having all the currently due forms submitted. Please if you have not already done so submit the forms. The next set of forms is due in January and it will be here before you know it. These are the Report of Fraternal Activity (Form 1728) and the Report of Special Olympics Participation (Form 4484). The Survey of Fraternal Activity requires you to survey your membership to gather all of the charitable works that they have done individually over the past year. A very good suggestion is to put this information in their dues notices sent out in December for them to return with their dues. This is very important as this is consolidated by Supreme to be reported to the IRS to maintain our charitable status. The Special Olympics form generates a rebate from Supreme which last year was $5500.00 that was able to be donated to the Special Olympics of NC. We will collect these forms at the Mid-Year Meetings so please plan ahead and bring printed copies.
We are VERY close to being in 100% compliance. Please help us achieve that milestone so that I don’t have to continue to bring this subject up and can move on to other topics.
If there is anything that I can do to assist you in any manner, please do not hesitate to reach out. That is what I am here for, to help you in any possible way.
