Helping Those to Make the Right Decision

Brothers:

Let me share one of the many stories I have heard recently about how our ultrasound initiatives affect the women throughout the State. About a month ago a woman we will call “Q” came into the Your Choice Resource Center in Rocky Mount, she was with her three year old son, Elijah. According to the Executive Director Virginia Roberson, Elijah was laughing and blowing kisses to the people working at the pregnancy support center. Three years ago, Q came to center as a drug addict. In her words, “… my spirit was broken; no life left; no care for anything, especially any kind of faith in God or hope for anything else. I made up my mind to terminate the pregnancy.” The love and word of God were shared with Q as well as her pregnancy options, and she was offered an ultrasound. “It had no longer become just about me, it was about this child. So away I went kicking and screaming to Walter B. Jones Rehab.” Elijah was born on her mother’s birthday in 2013. Q. and Elijah couldn’t stay too long to talk with those at the center for she had to go to work. Q just wanted the people at the center to know that she was clean and to say, “thank you!”

As Virginia Roberson stated in her letter to me, “How many “Q’s” are out there that can’t get to us or don’t know we are here?” This is why the Your Choice Resource Center wants to go out to those who can’t find the pregnancy support center. They are in the process of going mobile with an ultrasound machine, and Virginia Roberson knows that the Knights of Columbus are going to make this possible!

This is the first time since I’ve been involved as the Chairman for the Ultrasound Initiative that I am asking for Councils throughout the State to help two ultrasound initiatives. The two ultrasound initiatives are very worthy causes, which will help the need of two pregnancy support center to reach a large number of women to make the right choice.

As far as the ultrasound initiatives both are in the fundraising phase. The ultrasound initiatives are as follows:

  • Birth Choice in Raleigh

  • Your Choice Resource Center in Rocky Mount

If your Council, or you personally, are interested in helping to save innocent lives, please consider donating towards these two ultrasound initiatives. Feel free to contact me through the State website if you or your council are interest in financially support the above causes.

Vivat Jesus,

Len Kobylus

Ultrasound Chairman
